Mini Excavator Grease Fittings: Identify the Right Part

Qisheng Machinery · November 2, 2026

A replacement grease fitting must match the connection on the actual component and give the grease-gun coupler room to engage. Record its location and part reference before choosing a straight or angled fitting. Do not assume every fitting on a mini excavator has the same thread or serves the same purpose.

The machine greasing guide covers service records and point-specific instructions. This article helps identify a fitting and describe an abnormal point to a parts supplier or service technician.

Start with the point’s purpose

Locate the point on the machine’s lubrication chart or parts drawing. A boom pivot, a bearing and a track adjuster may all have connections that resemble grease fittings, but they do not necessarily have the same function. The track adjuster is a tensioning mechanism. Do not remove or loosen an unidentified fitting or valve as a routine greasing step.

For a parts request, record the excavator model and serial number, the diagram reference, the joint location and which side of the machine it is on. Photograph the point from far enough back to locate it, then take a close-up of the head and surrounding housing.

Match the thread and the available space

Fittings can differ in thread family, diameter, pitch and engagement length. Some use a drive-in connection instead of a threaded one. A similar-looking part that starts by hand is not proof of a correct match. Use the machine’s parts information or have a competent parts specialist identify the removed component and mating port.

Angle matters too. A straight fitting may be hard to reach behind a bracket, while an angled fitting must clear nearby moving parts throughout their travel. Compare the fitted orientation and access requirements; do not choose a longer or angled replacement merely because it is easier to photograph.

Record Why it matters
Point and component identity Distinguishes a pivot from a track adjuster or another assembly
Original part number or drawing Gives the supplier a basis for checking the fitted design
Thread or connection specification Helps prevent an incompatible fitting or damaged port
Head angle and surrounding clearance Checks access for the coupler and clearance in operation
Condition and photographs Shows damage, contamination or an inaccessible point

As a manufacturer example, SKF’s fitting catalogue lists straight, 45-degree and 90-degree examples as well as metric and other thread families. Those catalogue examples do not establish the fitting size of a QS machine.

When a fitting will not take grease

Stop applying force and check the applicable procedure. Dirt on the coupler or fitting, a damaged head, an inaccessible connection or a blocked passage are possible reasons; the symptom alone does not identify the fault. Do not keep increasing pressure, heat the joint, hammer the coupler or remove an unidentified pressurised component.

Report the point that did not accept lubricant, the grease product used, visible damage and whether the machine has developed abnormal movement. A fitting replacement does not by itself establish that the lubrication passage or joint is serviceable. Follow the equipment instructions and use a qualified technician when the cause or safe procedure is unclear.

Request the correct fitting

Qisheng accepts separate enquiries for grease fittings. Send the machine identity and photographs of the fitting and its location, the original part reference if available, the required quantity and your delivery country. Confirm the connection and clearance before ordering. Where a customer needs a small fitting, complimentary supply may be possible; ask us to confirm the item, quantity and shipment arrangement. If joint movement is the concern, the pins and bushings guide explains a separate measurement task.
